COVID-19 has impacted each of our lives in immeasurable ways. Our priority at Bryn Mawr Periodontics and Implantology is to continue our provision of excellent periodontal care in a manner that is responsible and safe for our patients and staff. We understand that what we do affects our local neighborhoods, our nation, and our world.
Our protocols for check in, treatment, and check out incorporate the most up to date recommendations made by the CDC, PA Department of Health, and OSHA. Please note the following:
- Pre-screening for COVID-19 will occur for all our patients with a “Wellness Form.” It can be easily filled out on your cell phone or computer. If these are not convenient means, we are happy to call you to review them.
- “Parking lot reception”: Please give our office a call or text when you arrive in the parking lot. We will let you know when we are ready for you to come upstairs and will meet you at the door. Our schedule is structured so patients do not need to cross paths while in our space.
- Please come masked. Your temperature will be taken with a contactless thermometer prior to entering the office. We will confirm your Wellness Form is still accurate and then walk you to your treatment room.
- Two pre-rinses will be provided for you prior to treatment. 0.12% Chlorhexidine Gluconate and 1% Hydrogen Peroxide. Please notify us if you have a known sensitivity to these solutions or alcohol based rinses.
- All high touch surfaces are disinfected regularly, and your treatment room is sanitized with CDC and OSHA approved medical grade disinfectants, HEPA Air Filtration Units, and UV Germicidal Irradiation in the HVAC system.
For those of you returning to our office, you will notice some new changes:
- Finally, some pictures on the walls! But no magazines…
- Sneeze guards and doors on all the treatment rooms
- New communication system with e-mail and texting capabilities
- Several layers of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – we promise, we are still smiling underneath the safety measures!
We welcome open communication regarding your concerns about the pandemic and appreciate you informing us if a change needs to be made for your appointment because of it. We want you to feel as safe as we do when you visit us for your next periodontal appointment.
Best regards,
Maki Ishii, DMD and Team
